Washington, DC – Haiti Renewal Alliance (HRA) in partnership with the National Organization for the Advancement of Haitians (NOAH), the National Association of Haitian Professionals (NAHP) will host the first ever Haiti Presidential Candidates town meeting on economic development and investment. This town hall is scheduled to take place on September 15, 2015 at the prestigious National Press Club in Washington D.C.

Haiti is at a crossroad: its currency has been losing value, economic growth is stagnant, diaspora and foreign direct investment is on the decline. The next Haitian President will need to tackle a variety of issues from energy, infrastructure, education, import/export, to currency devaluation and inflation stabilization etc., in order to redefine Haiti’s place in the 21st century global market place. This upcoming election is the first in recent memory to be centered on key economic developments to be delivered to the country by the next President and his Government.

HRA and its partners have identified and have invited seven (7) presidential candidates, according to the latest published polls, to attend this discussion before a live audience. The candidates will be invited discuss their vision and strategies on the state of leadership, governance and economic development of Haiti and strategies to attract foreign direct investment. Questions will be drawn from the live participating audience as well as submission from Facebook and twitter.

This event is open to the media and the public.

Registration to attend opens September 1, 2015
